We're nearing the end of home cabinet construction and getting ready to think about kitchens. Still plenty of work to do on the home cabinets, but they're coming together!
Join us on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9 am – 2 pm for our annual Open House! Take a tour, meet our current students and see their gorgeous kitchens in progress. This is a great opportunity to learn what makes our program so unique – not only from the instructors and current students, but also from former students who attend every year. You’ll hear how quickly they were snapped up by employers and how prepared they were to begin their new careers. You can also learn more about our night and weekend classes for hobbyists, in case you want to get a head start on learning the craft of woodworking. Don’t forget to look at our specific directions on our website at: http://www.nesaw.com/about-nesaw/contact-us/, as GPS will get you to our old mill building but won’t help you get in the right door! If you can’t make it that day, just let us know and we’ll arrange a time for you to visit. ... See more

We visited our kitchen projects today to meet the owners, get a feel for the space, and verify measurements.
Students use the Festool Domino to mill the joinery for the home cabinet carcass.
Time is flying! We've just finished our fourth week of the new school year in the shop. Amazing what can be learned and accomplished in such a short time. We've completed drawing the home cabinet, generated a cutlist, talked about estimating and pricing and are starting to build our first cabinets! The group has broken down many of the plywood parts and chosen their lumber and started to break that down as well. A very productive and enthusiastic group. Tomorrow, we have site visits planned to this year's kitchen projects. No problem staying busy... ... See more
