Education Partnerships
Historically, high school and postsecondary woodworking courses have utilized curriculum and evaluation criteria developed by individual teachers or committees of teachers. We recognize the growing importance of standardizing the curriculum and evaluation measures across the woodworking education spectrum. These efforts will ensure that our graduates have measurable, demonstrated expertise in the critical skills required by employers across the nation. To that end, we are continually working to develop partnerships with other education institutions and industry organizations across the country, and internationally, to make sure that our students are getting the latest information possible.
For example, we have recently joined WoodLINKS USA, an organization of high school and post-secondary schools that partner with industry to promote woodworking careers, provide employment opportunities for graduates, industry donations for member schools, and facilitate curriculum development and sharing.
